LIMITS OF APPROACH TO LIVE POWER LINES
4.1.1 Emergency responders must maintain the limits of approach as described in the Ontario Health and Safety Act
(OHSA) from live electrical power lines. The minimum limits are as follows:
300 to 750 volts 1.0 m (3.0 ft)
751 to 150,000 volts 3.0 m (10.0 ft)
150,001 to 250,000 volts 4.5 m (15.0 ft)
250,001volts and higher 6.0 m (20.0 ft)
